COLOSSUS NIGHT ONE GAMBLING ODDS FROM THE H.O.G!
News Story
Hello! From the High Octane Gambling sportsbook, in conjunction with PWAtv, we bring you the gambling odds for night one of Colossus!
Night One’s line-up, for most companies, is an incredible card in and of itself. Most promotions would lop an arm off to run this lineup out for a pay-per-view. Yet for PRIME, and us gamblers at the H.O.G, it’s only the beginning of the festivities. For some competitors, like Jared Sykes, the events on Night One are only the beginning of the weekend; for others like Paxton Ray, this night is the culmination of their year’s work in PRIME.
THIS. IS. COLOSSUS.
RIA LOCKHART (+250) VS. SAGE PONTIFF (-175)
Ria Lockhart has gone through a transformation during her year in PRIME. From the angry and heelish persona known as Ria Nightshade, and now to Ria Lockhart, she is an icon of inclusion and a beacon of diversity on PRIME’s roster. Ria has a cause she fights for and believes in, but her opponent has started fast in the short time he’s been with the company. Sage Pontiff has shown an odd blend of ring savvy and mind games with every opponent so far. Sage is the favorite, but don’t count Ria out; when you have something you believe in and fight for every day like she does, anything can happen.
IVAN STANISLAV (-160) VS. MORTIMER KNIGHTINGALE (+220)
Mortimer has found himself on the rough end of things. Being forced to change his name, and work unwillingly for Tony Gamble, has forced him to adapt. We’ve seen him run head-first into the monster known as Ivan Stanislav backstage, but finally they’ll do battle in the ring. Since that initial defeat to Hayes Hanlon at UltraViolence, Ivan has been running roughshod, turning PRIME into a flashback of his OSW glory days. Ivan is the favorite here, but Mortimer is a tough nut to crack.
NOVA (-150) VS. SONNY SILVER (+200)
Two PRIME Hall of Famers square off. Don’t let Sonny Silver’s antics and ring rust fool you; the man is a deadly competitor once inside the squared circle, especially when he has an axe to grind like he does with Nova. Word on the street is the MGM suffered tens of thousands of dollars in damages caused by Mr. Silver in the leadup to ReVival 20, and this one could tear the roof off of the entire building at Madison Square Garden. I hope Lindsay Troy’s pocketbooks are full, because this one is sure to be wild. Nova, however, has to be the betting favorite. He’s taken on elite competition in all manner of encounters from intense singles matches with the likes of Brandon Youngblood and Cancer Jiles, to the absurdity of Survivor with his partner Garbage Bag Johnny and competing with the likes of Jared Sykes, Paxton Ray, and the Winds of Change. Nova solidifies the start of a new climb off the back of the former Chairman of PRIME.
MOTM B-TEAM (PK) VS. DANGEROUS MIX (PK) VS. EGG BANDITS (PK)
The mercurial eGG Bandits take on two of PRIME’s most consistent tag teams. On some nights, Bobby Dean can hang with Brandon Youngblood; on other nights, Bobby Dean takes a snooze. Fred Mayhew (Doozer) was even able to secure his first victory in singles competition, downing Mushigahara. The Masters of the Multiverse…B-Team are looking to make it two supershow wins in a row, while the Dangerous Mix are aiming to avenge their loss to the B-Team at UltraViolence. In this match, with so much chaos, it really could be anyone’s game.
FIVE STAR TITLE: FLAMBERGE © (+130) VS. BRANDON YOUNGBLOOD (-120) VS. NATE COLTON (+130) VS. REZIN (+130)
Anything could happen in this match. You have four out of the top 10 in PRIME going head to head. Two of these men have been the top ranked wrestler in the standings. Nate Colton and FLAMBERGE are destined to be each other’s rivals for eternity. And Rezin has been one of the most consistent competitors the second half of the year, holding GREAT SCOTT away not once, but twice, and giving him two out of his three defeats across the entire PWA. Not even Brandon Youngblood could stop GREAT SCOTT. But in a match like this, you have to make the veteran the favorite. Brandon Youngblood has seen it all and he knows how important a win at Colossus can be. With this much potential for chaos, you can’t count the Goat Bastard out. Will inexperience prevail with Nate Colton, and FLAMBERGE, both making incredible names for themselves this year? Could they continue and give that rise an enormous stamp of approval with a huge win at Colossus? Anything can happen in this fourway.
LIGHTS OUT MATCH: PAXTON RAY(PK) VS. JARED SYKES (PK)
All things considered, Jared Sykes should be the favorite coming into this match. A former SCCW Universal Champion, a legend in that promotion, a man fighting for his friend, he should absolutely be the favorite. But with Paxton Ray’s brutality on full display last ReVival and beating the hell out of Jared Sykes, and the Bayou Butcher’s initial journey into singles being a success, this one can’t be predicted. Even if this match is unsanctioned in PRIME, you best believe the HOG is gambling on it. If Jared Sykes is healthy coming in, he’s a slight favorite; if not, this one’s a total toss up. Flip a coin, consult your magic eight ball, find a four leaf clover, and get out your lucky rabbit’s foot when you’re picking a winner for this one.
