Details on Blockbuster Return of PRIME Hall of Famer
News Story
Details have emerged regarding the blockbuster return of The Inhuman Being, Matt Ward, at Colossus. Exact specifics have been difficult to pin down, and most of those in the know are playing it fairly close to the vest, but here’s what we know…
First, and not surprisingly, what played out in-ring with Kaiser Vashaun on Night 2 of Colossus was not exactly ‘legit’. Vashaun was offered a contract by his one-time mentor, and was invited to sit ringside for the show, but Ward had not anticipated Kaiser rejecting the initial offer. The contract Ward signed after laying out Vashaun was for… theatrical purposes.
As reported several weeks ago, Ward actually was set to step-down from him role as EVP of Talent & Development, potentially in favor of a reduced consulting role. It’s unclear what changed, but sometime around Thanksgiving, those conversations took a drastic turn.
The actual contract was signed around the first of December and is for “substantial, record-setting-type” money, though unlike Brandon Youngblood, Ward’s deal is for a much shorter duration. We couldn’t get an exact length, but one individual in the front-office indicated they thought it was set to run until the next Colossus event, and another stated it might even be a ‘Per-appearance’ deal based on what they’d been told.
We’ve also received word that The Inhuman Being has inked two lucrative endorsement deals with major brands. Monster Energy and Nike have signed to utilize Ward in a brand ambassador role. It has been confirmed that all of Ward’s PRIME merchandise will be Nike branded gear and to “expect to see these logos popping up on in-ring gear” one source stated.
Ward is set to make his return to the ring, after a decade-long absence, on ReVival 22.
