Bang! Pro Wrestling Presents The Sekai Saikyō Cup: Second Round, Part 4!
News Story
We’ve finally reached the last night of the second round of the Saikyō Cup, and things are heating up in a big way in Chiba, where it’s always a good place to Bang!
MARCH 29th, 2023: SEKAI SAIKYOU CUP, SECOND ROUND, CHIBA, NIGHT 2
- Anna Daniels & Ria Lockhart def. The Fabulous Hentai Brothers (Michael & Matthew) @ 9:08 after a Lock Cutter (cutter) from Lockhart to Michael
- Saikyō Cup, Second Round: “Diamond” Daisuke Hashiwara def. “Thick Walls” Wally Wallace @ 14:33 by pinfall with the Diamond Dust
- Saikyō Cup, Second Round: “Stunning” Sam Smart def. “Ace of Spades” Izou Yoshida @ 12:08 by pinfall after the Smart Bomb (throwing crucifix bomb)
- Saikyō Cup, Second Round: “The Crownless King” Coral Avalon def. Sin Cordura @ 23:16 by ref stoppage with the Vortigern’s Pillory (Omaplata armbar)
- Saikyō Cup, Second Round: Pom Shinjoku def. Roosevelt Black @ 21:37 by pinfall after the Great Wave off of Kanagawa (rolling front Russian legsweep)
Although they’re going to be opponents in the third round of the Saikyō Cup, Ria Lockhart and Anna Daniels share bond enough to team up against the Fabulous Hentai Brothers to open up the festivities during the second night in Chiba! The perverted antics of the Hentais caused both Lockhart and Daniels to systematically destroy the two of them, culminating in Daniels landing the Oncoming Storm on Matthew while Lockhart hit the Lock Cutter to secure the win.

The first of the Saikyō Cup matches between two-time winner “Diamond” Daisuke Hashiwara and up-and-comer Wally Wallace was a hard hitting match, with Wallace doing everything in his power to stand up to the stylish pompadour and glistening muscles of Hashiwara.
I mean, what?
Anyway, Wallace’s inexperience got the better of him in this one, as his showboating allowed Hashiwara to get the upper hand back, ultimately ending Wallace’s trip through the Saikyō Cup with the Diamond Dust to secure the win and a spot in the sweet sixteen!

In a shocking upset, maybe the biggest in the tournament so far, “Stunning” Sam Smart defeated the “Ace of Spades” himself, Izou Yoshida! It’s no secret that Yoshida isn’t who he used to be, and this match might just be another hammer in the nail of his coffin in Bang! Pro Wrestling. Yoshida didn’t ever seem to be in enough control to put Smart away, and after he missed the Director’s Cut, Smart scooped him up and put him down with the Smart Bomb to secure the big win.
Yoshida was listless after the match, almost puzzled as to why things have gone as wrong as they have. Even his fellow Aces seem baffled. I can’t really speculate too much, perhaps it’s entirely possible that his heart isn’t into this anymore?

Bang! legend and the founder of the Crownless Kingdom, Coral Avalon, went toe to toe with the insane luchador known as Sin Cordura. Cordura chose this time to go full hardcore on the Crownless King, putting both of them through several tables during the match, but crashing and burning just as often. He even broke a pane of glass between him and Avalon off of a frog splash, and referee Ryuunosuke Doi – as is his norm when Coral Avalon is involved – let that one go! In the end, a bloodied Avalon caught Cordura’s ankles trying to use El Verdugo, turning it into an inverted Alabama Slam! A Camelot’s Turntable followed into the Vortigern’s Pillory, and while Sin Cordura did not submit, the referee ruled that he was unresponsive and awarded the win to Avalon!
After the match, while being attended to by doctors, Avalon naturally complained about how he always seems to get the guys who wants to stab him in Bang! Pro Wrestling, but no one really listened to him or paid him much attention.
He knows what he did.

In the last of the second round matches, it was legend versus up-and-comer once again, as Pom Shinjoku taking on Roosevelt Black! Black stepped up his game against the one-eyed Japanese wrestling legend and took it to Shinjoku for much of the contest. It got to the point that Shinjoku ended up digging into the deep wellspring of knowledge from her time in deathmatches, taking advantage when the match spilled out onto the floor and fighting dirty.
Back in the ring, Shinjoku had the advantage on Black, who had a wound over his eye from the fighting outside. But Black fought back and landed several high flying moves, ultimately culminating in almost taking the win when he landed the triple jump moonsault! However, as it so happened, Shinjoku was too close to the ropes and the match had to continue after the wily one-eyed veteran got her foot on the ropes! Not long after, Black became overzealous attempting the moonsault a second time and got kicked in the face in mid-air for his troubles! One Great Wave later, and Shinjoku advanced to the round of 16 to take on another young stud in “Stunning” Sam Smart.
Shinjoku really dodged a bullet on this one, though. If Black had made that cover further from the ropes, it might’ve been him in the round of 16 instead!
