Bang! Pro Wrestling Presents The Sekai Saikyō Cup: Round of 16, Part 2!
News Story
We’re in Nagoya, and that’s a great place to Bang! Especially when we’re Bang!ing with the other half of the third round of the Sekai Saikyō Cup! After tonight, there will be eight wrestlers left trying to claim the title of the strongest in the world! Who will they be?

- Saikyō Cup, Third Round: Claire Merci def. Kensuke BLACK @ 19:54 by submission after the Royal Hanging Garden Stretch (octopus hold)

The back half of the Round of 16 began with a most unexpected third round match between slap-fighting maestro Garry “Ray-Ray” Nelson and the drifting Wanderer! As per usual, the Wanderer simply slid into the ring for his match not even a moment after the Crownless Kingdom vacated the ringside area following their easy victory in six-man tag action. After Nelson entered (and loudly accused the Wanderer of being some sort of devil worshipper, with the devil in question being Jeff Gordon), the match was on its way!
And thus, with the powers of Dale vested within Garry “Ray-Ray” Nelson, he pronounces the Wanderer face and slap! At least, that’s how it was at the start before the Walkin’ Dude retook the advantage with some good old fashioned shortcuts by way of low-bridging Nelson before he could land the roaring elbow. After a brawl on the outside, the Wanderer smashed Nelson against the ring post and got him back in the ring for a close two count.
When Ray-Ray fought back, it was through some good old-fashioned slappin’. As he does. The Wanderer seemed to wilt like a flower after a few of these blows, but it was all a ruse to pull Nelson into the turnbuckles and try to steal it with a rollup with his feet on the ropes – only for referee “Hot Pants” Shiraishi to notice it and break it up.
The Wanderer attempted to put Nelson away with the End of the Road, but Nelson spun out of it, landed an elbow, and then followed it up with the Blood on the Plow for the unlikely victory! That’s right, Garry “Ray-Ray” Nelson’s going to the quarter-finals! So much tender cornfield loving in a rice field awaits! Um. That’s what he said, anyway.

“Stunning” Sam Smart has only been wrestling for a year, but his size advantage against Pom Shinjoku gave him plenty of ways to make the one-eyed warrior from Kanagawa’s life hell! Smart dominated the early parts of the match, tossing around Shinjoku and using his size to retain his control. However, once Shinjoku lured him to the outside, the wily veteran of the Kazuyagumi used every trick in the book she knew to cut the bigger, much more inexperienced man down to size! Even when Smart fought back and attempted the Smart Bomb, Shinjoku slipped out of it and landed the Great Wave to pull off the victory!
After the match, Shinjoku expressed joy in the fact that her next opponent is either going to be the Crownless King or the Ace of Diamonds, both of whom are clear worthy opponents to her.

It’s a Hardweight rivalry that’s been going on for well over a year, but Claire Merci and Kensuke BLACK met to determine who would move on to the quarterfinals of the Saikyō Cup! The two semi-finalists of last year’s Terminus Complex had been duking it out for the Hardweight championship since BLACK won the belt at least year’s Clash of Aces, with Merci defeating him for the title in October of last year. And it seemed like they went full Hardweight in this one, folks, as there was a lot of violence and plunder involved in this one!
The queen of the Crownless Kingdom and the Black Ace went right to work beating the hell out of each other in the first five minutes, exchanging hard strikes and vicious throws early on. The heavier BLACK eventually started to win the exchanges, forcing Merci to take his legs out from under him and try to hyperextend his knee! This badly crippled BLACK’s capacity to take back the advantage, as even his famous suplexes lost some of their bite as the match went.
Still, BLACK’s tenacity meant he was never out of the fight, and as Merci tried to put things away, BLACK nearly took the match with his deadly half-nelson suplex! Only the ropes saved Merci, so BLACK went to for his even deadlier Kurokami Suplex… only for Merci to repeatedly kick BLACK’s injured leg and transition into the Royal Hanging Garden Stretch! BLACK tried to fight out of it, but his leg buckled and he was put in an impossible situation that left him no choice by to tap out to the hold, giving Merci the win!
The leader of the Crownless Kingdom of Japan takes another step closer. Her next opponent will be Garry “Ray-Ray” Nelson, who’s made a surprising push into the quarter-finals. Will she continue her winning ways, or is she about to learn what the five fingers said to the face?

We go from the leader of the Crownless Kingdom of Japan to the only member of the Crownless Kingdom of America, as Coral Avalon took on one of his oldest enemies in Bang! Pro Wrestling, “Diamond” Daisuke Hashiwara!
Knowing what kind of opponent awaited each other, both Avalon and Hashiwara didn’t bother trying to feel each other out and went right into a full sprint, battering each other as early as a minute in with strikes and blows. Avalon faltered first, still bandaged up from his encounter with Sin Cordura just days ago, and when he attempted to land an early Rhongomyniad attempt, it was caught and turned into a brutal lariat!
Daisuke dominated the middle of the match, such that he actually managed to open up some of Avalon’s wounds from his match with Cordura just nights ago. Nevertheless, the Crownless King was able to turn things around, eventually catching Daisuke with some big European uppercuts and backbreakers. Daisuke was able to stop a charging European uppercut in the corner and turn it into an attempt at the Diamond Dust. However, Avalon managed to block the attack and stun Daisuke long enough to Rhongomyniad him right off the second rope and to the floor!
Back inside, Avalon pressed his advantage, only to walk into the Diamond Cutter for a narrow two-count! Daisuke loaded up the Diamond Dust again, but Avalon ripped him from the turnbuckles by the leg and turned it into the Secace! With Daisuke knocked silly by the crushing European uppercut, Avalon pulled him up and landed Excalibur to pick up the win!
That means that Avalon will go one-on-one with Pom Shinjoku in what is perhaps a dream match considering that the two have never encountered one another in the ring before despite their credentials in the Japanese scene!
More importantly, the quarter-finals are now set! See you on the 5th!
