Tensions Escalate Ahead of Universal Title Match
News Story
As we barrel onward toward Tropical Turmoil, news has been flying in nearly nonstop from PWA rival High Octane Wrestling concerning the Universal Championship match between champion Brandon Youngblood and challenger Tyler Adrian Best.
After winning the Culture Shock Battle Royal, the youngest member of Clan Best promised to win the Universal Championship and bring it to HOW’s doorstep. This promise has seemingly been doubled down upon over the last week, with both Tyler and HOW owner Lee Best confirming that TAB will be on a plane to Chicago immediately following Tropical Turmoil… with or without the Universal Championship.
It would appear that grandfather of PRIME’s number one contender is beyond confident in the outcome of the match, pre scheduling a championship parade in Chicago and handing out bonuses to both Tyler and his father for a victory in a match that has not yet occurred. While Tyler has seemingly been re-added to the High Octane roster page, it should be noted that the nineteen year old competitor is still under contract to PRIME Wrestling and has not formally signed a new deal with his grandfather’s company.
Neither Lee Best nor PRIME staff were available for comment at the time of this writing, but Tyler himself offered his own thoughts on Tropical Turmoil:
“I won War Games and the Culture Shock Battle Royal in the span of a year, and now I’m looking to add youngest Universal Champion ever to my resume. Big butthurt Brandon can research my history all he wants, cause I’m busy focusing on MAKING history. You want another quote, you can quote me on anything I say in my first official interview as PRIME UNIVERSAL CHAMPION… live on Sunday Night Chaos.”
While there is no short supply of confidence from the Best Family headed into the weekend, perhaps there should be. Brandon Youngblood, arguably the best of the best in PRIME history, still stands between the brash young Tyler and his perceived destiny. Can Brandon Youngblood save the sanctity of PRIME’s most coveted championship?
We find out on night two of Tropical Turmoil.
More when we have it.
