A typical loud and chaotic weekend night flows in from outside an open window, through the majestic and dreamy suite. The curtains flutter ever so slightly, the cool air providing tranquility alongside security. The divine look, burgundy walls laced with sharp luxurious winter white carpet. Modern deco art hangs above the king size bed, two fine oak night tables flanked on both sides. It’s the most romantic fantasy anyone could ask for and, for this couple, god bless them, it has become a reality.
A little past midnight, the partnership called it a day. The woman, thin, short and dainty, wears a silver silk nightgown and a jewel encrusted eye mask. She’s nestled into the fetal position, blankets wrapped tightly around her small frame. On her left, a man, much taller, wavy Ken-doll brown hair, lays topless on his back, wide awake. His physique is quite muscular but his demeanor is soft and timid. Face chiseled out of stone, yet puzzled in a slowly overtaking spell of anxiety. He stares into the ceiling, the cool wind making his nipples harden; his deep thoughts tensioning his body.
“Sweetheart,” the woman says. She leans across the bed and hugs her man ever-so-tightly, “you have not communicated with me as strongly as you typically would.”
Her body now trembles too at the thought there may be a problem between them. She removes her mask and glances upwards, seeing her man stare into the roof. She feels his breathing, it’s shallower than normal. The concern on her face intensifies.
“You know I am looking for a deep love connection and when I don’t have this, even for a moment, my mind starts to wander…”
She apprehensively moves away, releasing her right arm and turning onto her back as well. The two of them stare at the ceiling, although the man finally sighs and runs a hand across his impeccable hair.
“Oh honey, I am so sorry,” he replies in the softest and most cautious voice possible. “You mean everything to me, I love you so much.”
He feels a cold vibe from his partner. While he has confirmed his love and affection, fixing the false belief, in many ways this gives her permission to shelter herself even further. The woman turns onto her right side, now facing the wall.
“I’m hurt,” she conveys in a softer tone than him, “I am looking for my life partner and gosh golly, sometimes I wonder if you’re him…”
He immediately poses a frown. They have known each other for five years, married for four and a half of them. It was love at first sight, no doubt. Together, the two of them are attached at the hip. They do everything as one so it’s no surprise she feels stress and anxiety about the relationship. Their dynamic hasn’t changed.
Until now.
For the first time in their marriage, they will have different experiences.
“Vickie, sweetheart,” the man says as his hands shake, clearly rattled his partner has been emotionally drained, “I never meant to hurt you. My mind drifted away…”
“To where?” She questions immediately. “To anyone else?”
The man shakes his head. “No. I was thinking about PRIME.”
Vickie slowly rolls onto her stomach, keeping her head in the pillow as her man continues speaking.
“I find myself worrying about it…” his voice trails. His mind is a mess of random thoughts. What happens in his opening match? What takes place after the tournament is over? They have signed a contract. He is committed.
“Why worry?” Once again she questions in an easy-going voice. “You’re going to have me by your side the entire time, baby.”
The man hears Vickie. He agrees and yet his facial expression doesn’t change. He has a blank look, his skin is pale.
“Jonathan-Christopher,” she lifts her head from the pillow, taking her right hand and placing it across her man’s chest. “You are a fine wrestler and the finest life partner I could ever ask for. We are going to weather the storm of PRIME. True love is Mother Nature.”
Relief finally spreads across Jonathan-Christopher’s face. He’s able to take a deep breath and slowly exhale.
“I need consistent love and affection,” she reminds. “As long as you tell me what you’re thinking, then I won’t worry it has something to do with me. Okay?”
She rests her head on the pillow, arm still draped across her man’s chest, feeling his heartbeat regulate. Concurrently, Jonathan-Christopher takes a free hand and places it over top of his life partner’s chest.
“I know, baby,” he replies. “You’re right, you’re always right.”
Vickie’s feet curl closer towards her, a sign she feels essentially secure.
“Rest up, my dear,” she concludes as her voice fades into a slumber, “soon everyone will know we’re a force.”

PRIME Headquarters
December 27, 2021
14:00
The white painted walls with PRIME promotional material of years past circle the boardroom. Jonathan-Christopher’s eyes slowly dart around, checking over a few of the more prominent pieces.
Killean Sirrajin vs. Tchu (Colossus III – August 13, 2006)
Lindsay Troy vs. Sonny Silver (Colossus IV – August 5, 2007)
Jason Snow vs. Tyler Nelson (King of Kings – December 20, 2009)
A haunting chill runs down JC’s spine, although he soon finds comfort in Vickie placing a gentle hand on his shoulders. She rubs his tense muscles up and down before further anxiety can expel. The moment is short lived, however, as two men in suits enter. They convey a business-like tone, yet ensure friendliness by smiling and offering their hands to the couple across the large table.
“Hello, my name is Devin and this is my associate, Calvin. Mr. Sirrajin sends his regards,” the men take a seat after the introductions. “You must be Jonathan-Christopher and this is your wife, Vickie.”
Vickie immediately pulls her legs into her chest and shutters, not feeling as comfortable as she should within her environment. Jonathan-Christopher leans forward. He’s unsure if he can speak but knows he most certainly should. The Folsom native rests both hands in front and locks them together, tightening his grasp to give him enough fortitude to speak up.
“We don’t subscribe to husband and wife,” he utters in a relatively calm and all encompassing manner, even if he’s feeling physiological stress. “Vickie and I prefer to use the definition Amazing Life Partner, or ALP for short.”
Devin crinkles his forehead and Calvin looks to his associate as if quickly conveying a sense of “are they serious” followed by a “I think they are serious” response. No matter, the two talent relation members brush it off, likely hearing (and seeing) a lot within the wrestling industry. What they have in front of them might not be anything out of the ordinary.
“Sorry about that,” Calvin declares on behalf of Devin, “we’re not always caught up with the… terminology of today.”
Jonathan-Christopher can rest. He leans back on his chair, attempting a smile while ensuring his stress stays internal. “It’s quite alright. It’s a unique term, just for us.”
JC needs his partner’s hand to help sooth his nerves and show they are a united front. He reaches out for Vic’s palm. At first, she doesn’t notice what’s happening but then she’s quick to move her left arm closer to him, almost too far, as if over-compensating. Jonathan-Christopher clutches his Amazing Life Partner’s hand tightly, for all its worth. This has given him a stronger sense of physiological relaxation. He takes a zen breath.
Vickie, meanwhile, has since put her legs on the ground and sits upright, she too feeling much more secure.
“Anyway…” Calvin opens his briefcase and reveals copies of PRIME contracts. “As you’re aware, we’re offering you, Jonathan-Christopher, a try out. You will compete in the Almasy Invitation Tournament. The winner will be crowned the first Universal Champion of the ReVival era. If you lose but still impress the figureheads, we will award you with the opportunity to sign full time with PRIME.”
Calvin states this as he slides copies of the contract across the table, one for Jonathan-Christopher, the other for Vickie. The small framed woman takes hold of hers immediately and furthermore moves JC’s copy away from him. However, Jonathan-Christopher had no interest in his own print out, anyway. He shifts closer to his ALP, right arm placed around her shoulders and the two nestle close, cheek-to-cheek, examining it. At this point, Calvin and Devin seem okay with the Hall’s neediness.
“I will tell you,” Vickie pipes up, scanning the first page, “Jonathan-Christopher is a wonderful wrestling talent and will prove worthy of your attention.”
Calvin and Devin’s body language suggests they don’t disagree.
“We were impressed with what we saw,” Devin responds. “The independent footage you sent showed promise.”
Jonathan-Christopher’s eyes glance up from the paperwork, although his head remains in the same lowered position. It’s as if he doesn’t believe Devin’s comment and needs to seek visual confirmation.
“My honey-bunch is a mighty mat technician,” Vic pronounces, caressing Jonathan-Christopher’s shoulders again. “He will show you the animal he is with me in the bedroom, he’s also the same animal in the ring.”
Jonathan-Christopher instantly blushes, his Ken doll-like hair wavering with anxiety at the full disclosure from his Amazing Life Partner. A nervous wreck now, there’s no way JC Hall will be able to speak for a while. However, it doesn’t matter. Vickie plans to communicate further for both of them.
“Before we sign…” she vocalizes with her eyes cold and dead, locked on Devin before they move to Calvin. “I’d like to ensure a grandiose wrestling entrance for the both of us.”
“I’m sorry, ‘grandiose entrance’?” Calvin asks, scratching his head.
“Yes,” Vickie says sharply, gaining more confidence in her words with each one of them, “when it’s time for Jonathan-Christopher to wrestle, we want to show the world how much in-tune we are. It’s the only way to bring out the beast from inside.”
Vic continues to rub away on JC’s back while Calvin and Devin are trying to make sense of the request.
“We’re talking pyro sparklers falling from the rafters,” Vic starts up, “in red for love, of course.”
Devin is about to cut Vickie off but it’s impossible to do so. She’s becoming more passionate by the second.
“Little cupids lined up and down the rampway, firing arrows into the crowd,” the gusto in Vickie’s voice bounces off the walls in the boardroom. “Inside the ring, a dreamy ballroom dance, where my Amazing Life Partner spins, tangos, walks us around the ring to showcase our true affection with one another!”
The PRIME employees couldn’t interject if they wanted to.
“We cap all this off with a long, passionate kiss. Jonathan-Christopher and I hold each other’s faces, express our love, vows and admiration. Our wedding song by Aerosmith comes to a close.” Vickie glances at her ALP. “And then Jonathan-Christopher wrestles to victory!”
With Vic completing her diatribe, Devin takes the floor.
“Mrs. Hall, unfortunately we are not the production team. I don’t know what will be available to you, entrance-wise, but I will certainly get you in touch with someone when I can.”
Lost in her own world, Vickie Hall could’ve been told a straight-up “no” and it wouldn’t have registered. She holds Jonathan-Christopher, placing frequent quick kisses on his neck. The PRIME representatives can’t help but look at JC’s reaction. A small fire has developed in the man’s eyes. He no longer looks like the apprehensive, cowering puppet he was mere moments ago.
“What can I say?” JC starts with a wink, “she’s quite the ideas woman.”
Eventually, Jonathan-Christopher signs both copies of the contract and hands them to Devin. The parties exchange pleasantries, and Devin tries to communicate he will be in contact with them regarding further details.
“Do you…” Jonathan-Christopher’s voice cues up before the PRIME reps make their exit. “Have any idea where I’d be placed in the tournament?”
Calvin replies, placing a hand on JC’s left shoulder. “Well considering you’re new to the sport, you’ll likely come in at a low seed. I can’t tell you some of our other signees yet, we’re working on things. You could wrestle a former PRIME talent or someone new altogether.”
“Either way, good luck to you. Both.” Devin adds.
The men exit, allowing for the Hall’s to leave on their own time. Vickie, still entranced within her thoughts of a magnificent ring entrance and JC Hall, scouring the boardroom walls for other promotional posters. His eyes fall on a particular image, and a particular person. JC can’t look away.
Jason Snow vs. Brandon Youngblood (Culture Shock – March 20, 2010)
Fear races down the Folsom native’s spine upon seeing the mugshot of Brandon Youngblood. He’s not sure what drew him to the poster but it’s left a lasting impression.
Vickie collects their belongings, finding Jonathan-Christopher’s hand and locking into it, while resting her head against his chest and speaks while the couple leave the boardroom.
“Oh goodness, gorgeous us, what a majestic journey PRIME will be.”

MGM Grand Casino
HALLmarked Promotional Meet & Greet (Online & In Person)
January 8, 2022
20:00
The scene opens to footage recorded from an iPhone as the person holding it walks around the casino. Soon after the stream begins, the camera view swings to find a brunette woman, boney yet rosy red cheeks, speaking into the lens.
“HELLO world, my name is Vickie Hall and welcome to my Twitch feed! As you may know, my adoring ALP and I are signed to temporary contracts with PRIME Wrestling! My buttercup, Jonathan-Christopher, will wrestle old sensation Brandon Youngblood next week in the main event! How paramount! Our PRIME journey is coming together vividly and it hasn’t even started! Jonathan-Christopher has been working extremely hard to prepare for this match and I will be by his side to witness history!”
Vickie starts walking. The phone in her hand is unsteady, so she’s not able to keep her face as readily visible.
“You are watching the promotional event of the week! I am here at the MGM Grand Casino to sign autographs and blow kisses!”
She pauses.
“Just a second here my lovely daffodils…” Vickie’s voice trails. From the looks of it she might have walked herself into a quiet corner. Vic lowers her voice significantly. “My sweetheart is nerve racked about the match. He thinks this Brandon Youngblood might be a threat or something. I keep telling my cookie not to worry. Love conquers all. Together, no athlete in his PRIME is going to be able to stop us.”
The feisty woman pops her head forward. “Ohhhh honey!” She gives a shout into the open space and then quietly consults the iPhone broadcast. “He’s very trembly. He gets like this. He needs his honey-bunch.”
She power-walks across packs of gamblers, finally arriving at a bar. There, from the edge of her iPhone feed is Jonathan-Christopher Hall on the far left bench, head in his hands.
“My dear!” Vickie playfully states as she approaches and switches the camera back to her face. “We’re live, Twitch stream, our Hallmark Journey. MGM Grand Casino. It’s divine! Tell everyone how we are going to tear apart Brandon Youngblood! Let’s hype our love!”
JC Hall doesn’t say a thing. Head in hands, he barely moves.
“Awwwww, you need me right now, don’t you?” she looks into the camera, “he needs me right now. My baby.”
Vickie clearly takes a hand off her iPhone and starts rubbing Jonathan-Christopher’s neck. The footage of the Twitch feed is rumbly since Vic has other matters to attend. After a good thirty seconds, she asks her man if he’s feeling better. He’s seen nodding, ever-so-slightly. The woman places both hands on her iPhone, flips the camera around and directs it at the couple.
“MGM Grand Casino, Jonathan-Christopher. Can you believe it? We’ve had such a dream week!”
He simply nods in agreement. She places kisses on his neck.
“Brandon, you may see a newbie in the wrestling world but when you step into the ring with Jonathan-Christopher, you step into the ring with us.”
Vickie puts more kisses on Jonathan-Christopher’s neck.
“Inside the heart of this man lies a tiger ready to pounce. PRIME signed us for a reason and you’re going to see it first hand!”
Vickie turns to her man. She carefully rests both hands on his cheeks and looks deep within his soul.
“It’s okay to be scared. It means you care.”
Jonathan-Christopher, once again, nods.
“I’m here for you. Together we will persevere.”
More nodding.
“I love you, darling.”
“I love you too,” JC Hall replies.
Slowly, the phone starts slipping out of Vickie’s grip until it hits the ground.
“They will ridicule us. We will hear laughter. But we have each other, my dreamboat.”
Suddenly, the iPhone is lifted as Vickie’s face is in front of the lens again.
“Sorry PRIMATES! We have to take a raincheck on the rest of this promotion. Baby needs his baby!”
Click.

Penthouse Signature Suite w/ Strip View
January 9, 2022
02:00
A whirlwind two days are over. The Hall’s have signed their contracts, been given an opponent and communicated openly about their needs. An extremely trying day for JC Hall has ended in his partner’s arms and although he’s unable to sleep, his ALP rests beside him. He could never feel more comfortable.
“Jonathan-Christopher?” Vickie asks before attempting to close her eyes.
“Yes, dear?” he responds.
“Tell me you need me.”
Jonathan-Christopher wastes no time in reply. “I need you, honey. I need you so much.”
He latches onto Vickie, tightening into her back as they spoon together. They close their eyes while Vickie smiles. She is physically and emotionally content. PRIME at the forefront and no wrestler able to stand in their way of a Universal Championship.
She knows, deep down, nobody possesses the potential the Hall’s have when united together.
Because that’s what true love can do.
